About the study:

The best Women hockey players in the world, in order to grow the game, need a strong, vibrant professional hockey league to play in.

With this mindset, Cosmos Sports, in conjunction with the 7 owners of the former Eastern and Central teams in the NWHL, are embarking on a process to right the ship of Women's pro hockey.

The feasibility study currently under way, will identify challenges of the past, and forecasts for the future.  It will begin to set forward a blueprint as to both the business and hockey model that will be required in order for a league to be successful and sustainable to all stakeholders:  team owners, players, sponsors, media, and fans.

During the creation of the study, and as the results evolve, input from all groups with an interest and passion for Women's hockey will be encouraged.    

While some may question the owners for their decision to not play in 2007, we believe that taking a step back and planning your future was a wise and necessary decision.  We look forward to an exciting evolution over the next weeks and months.
